Gum Bichromate is a historical process: one of many non-silver light-sensitive processes discovered in the 1830's during the period of rapid growth and invention in the field of photography. It is a handmade emulsion consisting of ammonium or potassium dichromate and gum arabic. Watercolor pigment is added to the emulsion to provide color to the image.
