bio

James Day is an Arizona-based painter, sculptor, illustrator, creative director and curator.  His current work  focuses his energy on 3D post cubism.  "My use of texture and contour add to a sense of composition that feels like Picasso’s take on the organization of ones face.  It’s classic as far as the way it relates to the Cubist Movement, yet feels like it’s of its own time period.  The dimensionality of it lends a feeling that the piece is living somehow, not as though it’s jumping out at you, but more like there’s someone in the room you hadn’t accounted for.  There’s definitely a life-force to this stuff."

As the son of a sculptor he has been "playing" with clay for as long as he can remember. His artistic interest expanded along with his studies in various media. He now draws, paints, sculpts, works in toy design, graphic design, software design and product design. He is also the creative director and co owner of a software and design company.
